So the first tip is to find someone who has had ample experience in rock climbing and seek their advice on how to begin. Usually, they will advise you to start practicing in indoor climbing gyms that offer mentorship and safety as you learn the ropes of rock climbing.

Use Both your Hands and Feet

It’s important to remember that in rock climbing you need to use both your arms and legs to ascend. Though it may seem that your arms are taking the brunt of the work, your legs play an important role in hoisting you up as well. Moreover, rock climbing engages all your muscle groups so it is important to work out every muscle in order to get the proper strength needed to rock climb properly and effectively. You can do this by consistently working out to strengthen all your muscle groups. This will get you ready for rock climbing.

No one gets it right on the first try. Rock climbing requires a lot of perseverance and determination to succeed. This goes back to mentorship. Make sure you have a great mentor that can teach you the basics and advanced moves as you move along. Not giving up is the key to becoming a successful rock climber. Another thing to remember is that not all routes are the same. In this regard, some are more difficult than others. This means that although you were able to tackle one route easily the next route many not be the same. Again, the key is to preserve and not give up. No sport is easy and this applies to rock climbing as well.

Practice

When it comes to things to remember about rock climbing, practicing is one of the most important aspects. Practice the moves and sequences you are at level at and advance gradually from there. Take your time in learning the different manoeuvres and styles. This will bring you a long way once you start rock climbing outdoors.
